The baked churros are deliciously crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s a typical Spanish dessert, and on the blog, you’ll also find the version of churros with Nutella, equally delicious! But today I want to offer you a perfect variant for those who don’t like frying; lighter and easier to make!
The churros dough is similar to choux pastry, once baked, they are sprinkled with cinnamon-flavored sugar and served with a nice cup of hot chocolate for those who prefer! They are really delicious, save the recipe right away.

Ingredients
- 3.2 oz butter
- 1.1 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsps sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup water
- to taste vanilla
- 1 Piping bag
How to Make Baked Churros
In a large pot, heat the water with the butter, a pinch of salt, and the sugar.
Stir with a whisk, and when the liquid is about to boil, add the flour all at once.
Next, mix vigorously until a ball forms that detaches from the sides of the pot.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add one egg at a time. (you may need one more egg) The mixture should be soft.
At this point, pour the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip, meanwhile, line the baking sheet with parchment paper and then make strips about 3-4 inches long. Place them well apart (they tend to puff up quite a bit during baking).
Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F for about 15-20 minutes until they are very puffed and golden. Remove from oven and roll the churros in a mix of sugar and cinnamon.
Storage of Baked Churros
Baked churros can be stored in a tin box until the next day.
