Breaded Slices with Ham and Cheese

Breaded slices with ham and cheese, an easy and quick recipe. It’s a very popular second course in the family, it’s a very quick dish to make, just bread the meat and cook it in a pan for a few minutes, at the end of cooking, add the cooked ham and cheese, cover with a lid to melt the cheese, making them really special. My favorites remain the scallops with mushrooms and the scallops with arugula and cherry tomatoes, but today’s recipe is just as delicious, worth trying soon!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices veal
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • 7 oz cooked ham
  • 2.5 oz cheese
  • to taste salt
  • to taste garlic powder

How to Make Breaded Slices with Ham and Cheese

  • Pour the breadcrumbs onto a plate and start breading the meat thoroughly on both sides, then heat a splash of olive oil in a pan.

  • Add the veal slices and cook over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side.

  • Then add the cooked ham and cheese (in my version, I used slices of sweet provolone).

  • Cover with a lid and melt the cheese, then serve immediately, enjoy your meal!

Storage of Breaded Slices with Ham and Cheese

As sometimes happens, already cooked meat that is not consumed can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one day. A variant of this recipe could be using chicken breast instead of veal.

You can substitute the cooked ham or speck, I do not recommend raw ham because it releases too much salt during cooking.
