Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups Manitoba flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 1 egg (for brushing the surface)
  • 1 1/8 cups milk
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • q.b. Nutella®

Tools

  • 1 Mold

Steps

  • To prepare the sweet dove, start by pouring the flours into a bowl, add the yeast and sugar.

Pour the milk into the bowl and mix, add the rest of the ingredients a little at a time, blending them first with a fork and then with your hands.

  • Transfer the obtained mixture onto the work surface and knead it to form a smooth and soft dough, then let it rise in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for about 2 hours in the turned-off oven with the light on.

After the resting time, divide the dough into 7 balls, cover with a cloth and let rest for 15 minutes.

After the resting time, open each ball slightly with your hands and add a generous teaspoon of Nutella, then close.

  • Proceed by closing the filled balls and place them in a dove-shaped mold.

The balls should be placed with the closure facing down. Let rise for another 20 minutes covered. Brush the surface with beaten egg and bake your dove at 340°F for 30-40 minutes. If necessary and you see that it tends to darken too much, cover the surface with aluminum foil towards the end of the baking.

  • Take your pan brioche out of the oven and let it cool, then sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.

Storage: The Nutella Danubio Colomba soft as a cloud, can be stored under a cake dome for up to two days. Alternatively, you can also freeze it.

Tips: You can prepare the dough the night before, so I recommend using less yeast and baking it on Easter morning to enjoy its aroma!
