Ingredients

  • 1 roll phyllo dough
  • 7/8 cup Nutella®
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 tbsp crushed hazelnuts

How to prepare Phyllo Dough Nutella Triangles

  • Roll out the phyllo dough, making a rectangle about 10-12 inches long. Brush the surface with melted butter.

  • Layer another sheet of phyllo dough on top, then brush it with butter as well.

  • Next, fill with Nutella at the bottom corner of each strip you will make.

  • At this point, proceed with the assembly: fold the filling by taking the bottom corner of the dough, thus forming a triangle; continue folding the triangle by alternating the corners until you finish the strip.

  • Transfer all the prepared triangles onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, then brush them with a thin layer of butter.

  • Bake in the oven at 356°F for about 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and decorate with Nutella and crushed hazelnuts.

Storage of phyllo dough triangles

It is preferable to consume the phyllo dough Nutella triangles immediately. Freezing is not recommended.

FAQ

  • How can I substitute phyllo dough?

Phyllo dough is a thin and crispy pastry, typical of Greek cuisine. It is used to prepare both sweet and savory dishes. If you can’t find it or want to try something different, you can substitute it with:
Puff pastry: which puffs up and becomes crispy and golden in the oven.
Kataifi dough: it is shredded phyllo dough, which resembles hair. It is used for sweet preparations but also pairs well with savory dishes.
