Ingredients

  • 5 slices Sandwich Bread
  • 15 slices Cheese (sliced)
  • 7 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 3 Eggs
  • to taste Basil
  • 10.6 oz Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 4 cups Vegetable Oil (for frying)

Preparation

  • First, prepare the tomato sauce this way: sauté the garlic with olive oil, then pour the tomato sauce, add a few basil leaves, and salt.

  • Now take the sandwich bread slices and lay them on the work surface, then roll them out with a rolling pin until they are thin.

  • Fill them with tomato sauce and three slices of cheese, then roll them up to form small rolls.

  • Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt, then dip each roll, first in the egg, then in the breadcrumbs, and finally fry them in hot oil until golden. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper and serve them sliced while still hot and cheesy.

Tips …

If you prefer, you can also bake your pizza-style bread rolls in the oven at 392°F for about 15-20 minutes with a drizzle of oil
