Potato Pie with Meat Sauce

Potato Pie with Meat Sauce is a flavorful dish that is very easy to make, perfect for a tasty dinner or Sunday lunch. It is a rustic dish made with mashed boiled potatoes in the center. I stuff it with Il Mio Gran Ragù Star with Sausage: it’s ready-made and prepared with selected and raised meats in Italy. Additionally, I usually add cheese like provolone or mozzarella, but you can add your favorites. It’s then baked in the oven until golden: it’s really delicious, try it, it will win you over!

  • 1 egg
  • 2.1 oz Parmesan cheese
  • as needed milk
  • 1 package Il Mio Gran Ragù Star with Sausage
  • as needed scamorza cheese

How to make Potato Pie with Meat Sauce

  • Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces, then boil them in salted boiling water for 7-8 minutes. Drain them and mash them directly in a bowl, add salt, Parmesan, the egg, and if needed, a bit of milk.
Once you have a soft and well-mixed mixture, place part of the potato mixture in a baking pan lined with parchment paper or, alternatively, greased and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Then stuff with Il Mio Gran Ragù Star with Sausage and the cheese slices.
Cover with the remaining mixture, smooth it out well, and decorate with potatoes sliced very thin with a mandoline. Then sprinkle with breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, and drizzle with a bit of oil.
Bake in the oven at 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden.

Storage and Tips for Potato Pie with Meat Sauce

It can be stored in the refrigerator well covered with plastic wrap until the next day. If you wish, you can prepare the pie well in advance and then bake it when needed.
