Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 6.35 oz cooked ham
  • 6 slices cheese (slices like scamorza)
  • to taste sesame seeds
  • to taste poppy seeds

How to Make Puff Pastry Wheat Ear

  • Unroll the puff pastry, then fill with cooked ham and cheese.

  • Tightly roll into a log, then let rest in the refrigerator for an hour or in the freezer for 20 minutes.

  • After the resting time, transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and make cuts using scissors.

  • Then fold the edges alternating them as you see in the photo.

  • Brush with beaten egg and a splash of milk and decorate with sesame and poppy seeds.

  • Bake in a static oven at 375°F for about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and serve hot and cheesy.

Storage and Tips for Puff Pastry Wheat Ear

You can prepare it beforehand and store it in the refrigerator until cooking time. You can also choose to fill it with grilled vegetables, Philadelphia cheese, or sliced olives.
