Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 18 slices whole wheat sandwich bread
- 5.29 oz cheese
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- to taste salt
- 0.85 cup milk
- 7.05 oz cooked ham
Steps
In a bowl, break the eggs and add the milk and salt. Beat the eggs with a fork.
Then dip the slices of bread, and place them side by side
Fill each layer with cooked ham and cheese, then repeat for 3 layers.
Sprinkle the top layer with breadcrumbs and drizzle with a bit of olive oil.
Bake in the oven at 356°F for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve the hot and melty bread pie!
Storage and Variations
The bread pie can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container until the next day. You can replace the cooked ham with other cold cuts or grilled vegetables.
