Quick Apple Croissants

Quick apple croissants, simple bites similar to apple strudel. I also recommend trying the apple upside-down cake and the apple cake with raisins. The quick croissants are made with ready-made puff pastry, convenient and versatile, they come as beautiful crescent-shaped bundles, while the heart of the dessert is a filling made of apples and cinnamon. If you like, you can also add a teaspoon of apricot jam, for a crunchy touch you can add chopped nuts. Once baked, you can sprinkle them with plenty of powdered sugar.

Ingredients for 8 croissants

  • 1 roll puff pastry (round)
  • 2 apples
  • 3 tbsps brown sugar
  • to taste ground cinnamon
  • to taste milk

Steps

  • Start with the apples: obviously peel them and remove the core, then cut them into cubes.

  • Cook them for 5 minutes in a pan with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. At the end, let them cool and set aside.

  • Unroll the round puff pastry on a work surface and cut it into wedges making up to 8 triangles.

  • Place the cooked apples on each wedge and then roll them up to form a croissant.

  • Place all the croissants on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and brush them with milk.

  • Bake in the oven at 375°F for about 12-15 minutes, remove from oven and let cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Storage of Quick Apple Croissants

They can be stored under a cake dome for up to 3 days. They can be prepared well in advance (the night before) and baked at the moment, even in an air fryer: same temperature without preheating. You can also garnish with sugar sprinkles, or dust with powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.
