Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsps vegetable oil
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 11 oz cooked ham
- 7 oz cheese
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
How to make rustic sandwiches
In a bowl, pour the milk and oil and mix with a fork.
Add the flour and salt gradually.
Knead until you get a soft dough that no longer sticks to your hands. Let it rest in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for 20 minutes.
Take the dough again and divide it into 6 parts.
Now roll out the dough very thin.
At this point, fill the center with cold cuts and cheeses.
Close by bringing all the edges towards the center, creating a bundle.
At this point, place all your rustic sandwiches on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, brush with oil and bake at 375°F for about 15 minutes.
Storing rustic sandwiches
This type of sandwiches, like many other leavened products, can be stored in a plastic bag until the next day, staying quite soft. Alternatively, you can always freeze them.
