Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 11 oz cooked ham
  • 7 oz cheese
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil

How to make rustic sandwiches

  • In a bowl, pour the milk and oil and mix with a fork.

  • Add the flour and salt gradually.

  • Knead until you get a soft dough that no longer sticks to your hands. Let it rest in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for 20 minutes.

  • Take the dough again and divide it into 6 parts.

  • Now roll out the dough very thin.

  • At this point, fill the center with cold cuts and cheeses.

  • Close by bringing all the edges towards the center, creating a bundle.

  • At this point, place all your rustic sandwiches on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, brush with oil and bake at 375°F for about 15 minutes.

Storing rustic sandwiches

This type of sandwiches, like many other leavened products, can be stored in a plastic bag until the next day, staying quite soft. Alternatively, you can always freeze them.
