Ingredients

  • 1 roll white pizza dough (ready-made dough)
  • 3.5 oz bacon
  • 3.5 oz cooked ham
  • 1 oz grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2.8 oz provola cheese

How to make smart Neapolitan sandwiches

  • Unroll the pizza dough without removing it from its parchment paper and spread it out very well.

  • At this point, distribute the diced cold cuts and cheeses and finish with the grated Parmesan.

  • Roll it up on itself, compacting well, to obtain a sausage-like shape. Let it rest in the fridge for 20 minutes. Cut it into slices, maintaining a thickness of about 1.5 inches between each piece. Place the Neapolitan sandwiches on a baking sheet, well spaced from each other.

  • Beat the egg yolk with a fork and brush it onto the surface of each. Bake in an air fryer at 356°F (180°C) in fan mode for about 10 minutes.

Storage and tips for Smart Neapolitan Sandwiches

You can store them in the fridge in an airtight container until the next day. You can freeze them. The traditional filling includes cold cuts, but you can make them vegetarian: with friarielli and olives or with grilled vegetables.
