Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • to taste vanillin (or other optional flavoring)

How to Prepare the Water Ring Cake

  • In a large bowl, start by beating the eggs with sugar and vanillin.

  • Mix well with an electric mixer for about 5 minutes or until the eggs become frothy.

  • Continue mixing and add the water and oil.

  • Sift the flour and gradually incorporate the flour and baking powder while mixing.

  • Pour the batter into a 9-inch bundt pan, greased and floured, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F in static mode for about 30-35 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack, then dust with powdered sugar.

Storage and Variations of the Water Ring Cake

It can be stored under a cake dome for up to 3 days. You can freeze it if you used fresh ingredients. You can add unsweetened cocoa powder by replacing 1/4 cup of flour; while for the more indulgent, it’s possible to add spoonfuls of Nutella to the batter before baking.
