I confess that my favorite is the lotus dessert and the dessert with puff pastries and mascarpone cream. These are perfect desserts for when you’re craving a last-minute sweet: simple to prepare but super tasty. This dessert is a perfect combination of yogurt, cream, and chocolate ganache, ideal to serve at the end of a meal. I assembled the dessert with cookies soaked in coffee for a fragrant touch. Ingredients

  • 10.6 oz yogurt
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • to taste vanilla flavor
  • 5.3 oz 50% dark chocolate
  • 3.5 fl oz liquid cream
  • 6.8 fl oz coffee
  • 2 tablespoons milk (optional)
  • to taste hazelnut crumbs
  • 8.8 oz cookies (Ladyfingers or similar)

How to Make Yogurt and Chocolate Dessert

  • In a large bowl, mix the yogurt with the sugar.

  • Add the heavy whipping cream whipped separately, and mix again.

  • At this point, heat the liquid cream in a saucepan, and when it reaches a simmer, add the chopped chocolate.

  • Stir with a whisk until smooth and lump-free. At this point, your chocolate ganache will be ready.

  • Assemble the dessert by spreading a couple of tablespoons of cream in a 9×7-inch rectangular pan, then form a base with cookies soaked in coffee milk, make two layers in total.

  • As the final step, pour the ganache over the dessert, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. After the resting time, decorate with hazelnut crumbs and serve in portions.

Storage and Variation of Yogurt and Chocolate Dessert

You can store the dessert in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. It can be frozen for up to 4 months. You can garnish the dessert with fresh fruit or dollops of whipped cream. If you prefer, you can use low-fat or whole yogurt, for an elegant touch you can use white chocolate.
