The Arlecchino tartlets, as you can see, are colorful like the costume of the Bergamo mask, and they are super easy to make because they are shortcrust pastry filled with spreadable cream, making them perfect for Carnival.
As I’ve mentioned, the base is shortcrust pastry, so if you don’t feel like making dough, you can always use the pre-made one, fill it with your favorite spreadable cream, and decorate the surface with lots of Smarties once they are baked.
Do you like the idea? I loved it, and having some shortcrust pastry in the freezer, I managed to bake the tartlets in half an hour!
Now I’ll explain to you exactly how to make them!

Ingredients
- 14 oz Nutella® (or other spreadable cream)
- 1.1 lbs shortcrust pastry
- Smarties
Tools
- 4 Molds
- Grid
Steps
I used the shortcrust pastry leftovers I had made a few days ago for other recipes.
After rolling out the pastry, prepare the grid as follows:
Flour the diamond-shaped grid and roll out the necessary shortcrust pastry (the rest will be used for the molds), roll the rolling pin with light pressure, then put everything in the freezer for 15 minutes
With the remaining pastry, line the tartlet molds; prick the bottom and fill with a generous tablespoon of Nutella.
Remove the grid from the freezer and position the shortcrust pastry (being stiff, it will detach immediately); trim the edges with a small knife and decorate with the leftover diamonds.
– Preheat the oven to 338°F (170°C) and, in the meantime, place the tartlets in the fridge.
– Bake for about 15 minutes (no more than 17). Once cooled, decorate with Smarties.
