Delicious Apple and Walnut Tart

The delicious apple and walnut tart is really so delicious because it’s made with walnut shortcrust pastry.

A truly special recipe, and not at all difficult to make, that after the period of great heat, brought me back to my greatest passion: making tarts.

Because if it’s true that cooking is one of the most beautiful acts of love we can do for ourselves and others, offering a slice of tart made with your own hands, starting from the shortcrust pastry makes everything even more special.

In this case, this tart starts from the walnut shortcrust pastry, which with its distinctive flavor made the apple dessert very special. Yes, because usually walnuts are put in the filling, chopped together with the apples; here instead with each bite we distinctly taste the two flavors: that of the apples and that of the walnuts present in the pastry.

So, if you love desserts with apples and especially tarts, try this fragrant and intriguing version of delicious apple and walnut tart. And if you don’t like walnuts, I leave you the link for the hazelnut shortcrust pastry, so you can try it.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups type 1 flour (or 00)
  • 7/8 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cups butter (soft)
  • 1 egg (medium)
  • 3/4 cups walnuts
  • 1 cups apples (already cleaned, net of waste)
  • 2 tbsps brown sugar
  • 3 1/2 tbsps raisins
  • 1/2 cups apricot jam
  • ground cinnamon (a pinch)

Tools

22 cm mold diameter

  • Tart Mold

Steps

You can find the steps for the shortcrust pastry here. Proceed with rolling it out on a lightly floured surface after resting.

As for the apples, after washing, cleaning, and cutting them into cubes, combine and mix them in a bowl with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pre-rinsed raisins.

  • – Prick the bottom of the tart with a fork and spread the jam. Cover the surface with the apple and raisin mixture.

  • – With the leftover shortcrust pastry, create strips and form a lattice on the cake. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for at least half an hour. It should color and be cooked at the bottom. If necessary, cover the surface with aluminum foil and continue baking for a few more minutes.

Notes:

– Due to an unforeseen event, I couldn’t film the process of making the strips. Once cold, if you wish, you can dust the surface with a little powdered sugar.

– To make the dessert less cloying, I used jam without added sugars.

– It can be stored at room temperature.
