The recipe for orange salmon in the air fryer is quick to make with just 3 ingredients.
Rich in Omega 3 and good fatty acids, salmon is a very tasty fish that doesn’t need many seasonings, spices, or other ingredients… the rule “less is more” applies.
Just a good side dish, perhaps a fennel salad or mixed greens, and it’s ready to serve.
The air fryer in my case was useful because being just the two of us, sometimes turning on the oven is really a waste, and assuming the air fryer is a small convection oven with a smaller air chamber than a normal oven, it reaches temperature faster, allowing us to save some time.
But if you don’t have an air fryer, it’s not a problem because you just need to cook a few more minutes in the oven, and it’s done.

Ingredients
For this recipe, I used vacuum-sealed frozen salmon fillets; but you can easily use fresh salmon.
- 2 fillets salmon
- Half orange
- extra virgin olive oil
- black pepper
- fine salt (to taste)
Tools
- 1 Air Fryer
Steps
Let the salmon fillets thaw (if using fresh salmon, this step is not necessary)
– Thinly slice the orange with the peel after washing and drying it.
– Place the orange slices at the bottom of the fryer basket; lay the well-patted salmon fillets on top.
– Lightly oil the surface of the fillets, season with pepper, and salt.
Cook in the air fryer at 356°F for about 7 minutes; then check if it needs one or two more minutes of cooking (depends on the thickness of the fillets).
Serve with cooked vegetables or salad as desired.
Variations:
– Instead of orange, you can use lemon following the same procedure.
