Water cake with apples is a soft cake perfect for breakfast or snack.
Thanks to the presence of water in the batter, the cake is light, and the presence of apples, which I chose to use in the Kissabel variety, makes it really delicious.
Kissabel apples, or strawberries, have the peculiarity of having red flesh and a sweet taste that makes them perfect for desserts; but, of course, to make a good apple cake, the apples you have at home will do just fine.
Like all apple cakes, this water cake with apples is really easy to make and, if you want to make it extremely delicious as a dessert for the end of a meal, pair it with a velvety vanilla custard.
Let’s read together how to make the cake in a few steps, but first, don’t miss the other interesting recipes and tips.

Ingredients
- 3 apples (kissabel)
- 2 eggs
- 120 g sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup rice oil (or other mild oil)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 16 g baking powder
- ground cinnamon
- granulated sugar (or cane sugar)
Tools
- Mandolin
- Cake Pan heart-shaped
Steps
OVEN BAKING 350°F for 40/45 minutes
Peel one apple and dice it. TIP: To prevent oxidation, instead of using lemon juice, I wet a paper towel like a Scottex and place it on the fruit.
Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the sugar, and blend with electric beaters.
With the beaters running at low speed, gradually add the oil.
Add the water, still with the beaters running at low speed.
Add the cinnamon and the previously sifted flour.
Sift the baking powder directly into the batter and then gently fold it in with a spatula.
Fold the apple cubes into the batter gently.
Pour the batter into the greased and floured mold, decorate the top with thin apple slices with the peel on, and sprinkle with a little sugar.
Bake in the oven at 350°F for about 40/45 minutes, using a toothpick test. Out of the oven, wait for the cake to cool slightly, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Storage:
The water cake with apples can be stored in the pantry for 3 days. Given the presence of fruit in the batter, you can also store it in the fridge in a cake container and consume it within 4/5 days at most.
Tips:
If you don’t have a heart-shaped mold, use a 9-inch diameter cake pan.
