Almond puff pastries are extremely easy, quick, and delicious puff pastry treats. I had a puff pastry roll nearing its expiration date and decided to create these delightful treats with a creamy filling of frangipane cream, a fragrant and delicate almond cream. What a treat! The almond puff pastries are crispy and very tasty, perfect for breakfast, a snack, or as a dessert, and they last for days, but I doubt they will last long!

Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 egg (small)
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 1 egg for brushing
- as needed almond flavoring
- as needed sliced almonds
- as needed powdered sugar
Steps
The almond puff pastries are very simple and quick to prepare; first, make the frangipane cream: in a bowl, mix the almond flour, sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla flavoring until well combined.
Unroll the puff pastry and fill half with the prepared cream. Close the pastry and cut into strips about 3/4 inch thick.
Take a strip and twist it several times, then coil it into a sort of pinwheel.
Place the almond puff pastries on a baking sheet, brush them with the beaten egg, add sliced almonds, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 25 minutes, until golden.
Remove the almond puff pastries from the oven and dust with powdered sugar.
Advice:
Frangipane almond puff pastries keep at room temperature for 5-6 days.
