Ingredients
- 1.6 cups all-purpose flour
- 5.3 oz plain yogurt (unsweetened)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 3 bananas
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 lemon
- 1 pinch salt
- as needed powdered sugar
Steps
The banana and yogurt cake with chocolate chips is very simple and quick to prepare. First, beat the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt until they become light and fluffy.
Add the vegetable oil, unsweetened plain yogurt, and mix. Combine the flour, baking powder, grated lemon zest, and mix everything. Then incorporate 2 bananas sliced into rounds, seasoned with lemon juice and dark chocolate chips.
Transfer the batter into a cake pan lined with parchment paper and decorate the surface with a banana sliced into thin slices and some chocolate chips.
Bake the banana and yogurt cake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 40-45 minutes; use a toothpick to check for doneness.
Garnish the banana and yogurt cake with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Notes:
The banana and yogurt cake with chocolate chips can be stored at room temperature for 3-4 days. If you don’t want to use chocolate chips, you can omit them or replace them with any dried fruits you like (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios, peanuts, cashews). If you prefer, you can also use banana, vanilla, or any other flavored yogurt you like.
