Burger Flatbreads

in ,

The burger flatbreads are a truly amazing recipe! I had a pack of flatbreads, some ground meat to use, and I decided to make some unique “hamburgers“. I didn’t use the classic bun but the flatbread, and I filled them with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, speck, and burger sauce. The burger flatbreads are special, soft, tasty, and with a super delicious and cheesy filling. You can put whatever you want inside, they are ready in less than 10 minutes and are perfect as a quick dinner, everyone will love them, both adults and kids, you will fall in love at the first bite!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 3 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Stove
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs ground meat
  • 5 oz scamorza cheese
  • 3.5 oz speck (or pancetta or bacon)
  • 3 flatbreads
  • to taste lettuce
  • to taste cherry tomatoes
  • to taste burger sauce
  • to taste salt
  • to taste spices

Steps

  • The burger flatbreads are very simple and quick to prepare. First, season the ground meat with salt and spices to taste (I used rosemary, thyme, oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper).

  • Spread the ground meat evenly over the flatbreads, and brown the speck slices in a pan (you can also use pancetta or bacon if you prefer).

  • Quickly clean the pan with a paper towel and cook a flatbread, on the side with the meat, for 2-3 minutes, flip it, and fill it with scamorza cheese, cherry tomatoes (diced and salted), burger sauce, lettuce, and speck (the one you toasted a few minutes earlier).

  • Fold the flatbread in half and then into quarters, and prepare all the other burger flatbreads the same way.

Notes:

The burger flatbreads can be stored in the fridge for a day. Of course, you can fill them with the ingredients you like best, using light or fit ingredients if you follow a controlled diet. You can use store-bought flatbreads or homemade ones. I filled each quarter of the flatbread with a different ingredient (like tomato, scamorza, burger sauce, lettuce, and speck). Use the ground meat you prefer; I chose veal, but pork, mixed, chicken, or turkey are also great.
