Ingredients
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup cornstarch
- 3.5 tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup candied fruit
- 3 eggs
- to taste vanilla
- to taste powdered sugar
Steps
The Christmas gateau is very easy and quick to prepare. First, put the eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl and mix with a fork. Add the ricotta, milk, cornstarch, and cinnamon, and mix all ingredients well. Incorporate the chocolate chips, candied fruits, and raisins previously soaked and well-drained, and mix.
Transfer the mixture into a pan lined with parchment paper and bake the Christmas gateau in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 45 minutes.
Once cooked, let the Christmas gateau cool and garnish it with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Tips:
The Christmas gateau keeps at room temperature for a couple of days or in the fridge for 3-4 days. If you don’t like cinnamon, you can omit it. If you don’t like candied fruits or raisins, replace them with more chocolate chips.
