- Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3.5 oz jam
- 3.5 oz orange juice
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 orange zest
- 1 pinch salt
- Half packet baking powder
- as needed vegetable oil (for frying)
- as needed sugar and cinnamon for coating
Steps
Jam fritters are super easy and quick to prepare. First, put the eggs, sugar, orange juice, a pinch of salt, and jam in a bowl and mix with a fork.
Add the flour, baking powder, and grated orange zest and form a smooth, lump-free mixture.
Using two teaspoons, scoop a bit of batter and drop it into the hot vegetable oil. Cook the jam fritters over medium heat until golden, turning them to brown evenly.
Once cooked, drain the jam fritters on paper towels and immediately roll them, while still warm, in the sugar and cinnamon.
Notes:
Jam fritters can be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days. Instead of orange juice, you can use milk, even plant-based. Feel free to choose the jam flavor you prefer; if it contains a lot of fruit chunks, pass it through a sieve before using it. If you don’t like cinnamon, just roll the fritters in sugar, powdered sugar is also fine. They cannot be baked in the oven.
