The no-bake cereal is a delicious and clever recipe! I had organized the pantry before going on vacation and emptied practically everything to avoid being overrun by those annoying pantry moths 😀 I had a package of rusks to use up and wanted to use them to prepare a dessert for the next day’s breakfast. So, I took some dark chocolate, some opened milk I had in the fridge, and made some delicious cereal, without cooking anything. They turned out really great! The no-bake cereal is super chocolaty, crunchy, and tasty, you can make it in less than 10 minutes with just 3 ingredients, without butter, ideal for dunking in milk, cappuccino or eating as a snack, as a treat or breakfast, and both adults and kids will love them!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Rest time: 30 Minutes
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: About 60 pieces
- Cooking methods: No cooking
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 5 oz dark chocolate
- 4 1/2 oz rusks
- 1/4 cup milk
Steps
● The no-bake cereal is super easy and quick to prepare. First, finely chop the rusks (I used a mortar pestle and chose the cereal ones, but any type, even classic or whole grain, is fine), add the milk at room temperature, the melted dark chocolate, and mix all the ingredients well.
● Take a small amount of the mixture and form small balls, they should be about the size of a hazelnut.
● Place the no-bake cereal in the fridge to firm up for at least 30 minutes before enjoying, then you can dunk them in your favorite beverage or eat them as they are.
Notes:
The no-bake cereal can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days. Instead of milk, you can use another plant-based drink or, at the limit, water. You can replace the rusks with dry biscuits of your choice, probably you’ll need a bit less, try with 3 1/2 oz and add more if needed.
