The Nutella cigars (or sweet cigarettes) are spectacular treats, incredibly easy, super quick, and outrageously delicious. I had a roll of phyllo pastry to use up and decided to prepare some crunchy and delightful sweets using only 3 ingredients. What can I say? These Nutella cigars are sensational, crunchy outside with a super creamy filling, perfect as a dessert, snack, or whenever you want, they are made in just a few minutes and it’s impossible to resist their goodness. The most challenging part of this recipe is surely resisting the temptation to eat them all at once 😀
- Difficulty: Easy

- Cooking methods: Oven, Electric Oven, Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp butter
- 11 sheets phyllo dough
- 3 tbsp Nutella
- to taste powdered sugar
Steps
Nutella cigars are super easy and quick to make. First, melt the butter in the microwave or using a double boiler.
Take a sheet of phyllo dough, brush the surface with a bit of melted butter (it doesn’t need to be completely uniform) and fill the base with some Nutella, creating a sort of log. To be more precise, I used a piping bag without a nozzle (though a round one works too), but you can also use a food syringe, or two teaspoons at most.
Fold the side parts to form rolls, trying to roll the phyllo dough as tightly as possible.
Place the Nutella cigars on a baking sheet, brush them with the remaining melted butter and bake in a preheated oven at 390°F for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
Take the Nutella cigars out of the oven and, if you like, sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
Tips:
Nutella cigars can be stored at room temperature for up to a week. Keep them in an airtight container to maintain their crunchiness. You can also brush the pastry with a bit of seed oil if you prefer not to use butter, but they are definitely tastier with butter.
