Nutella muffins are delicious and super soft treats with a creamy filling. Do you want to make soft cakes but with a creamy heart that doesn’t sink while baking? Here’s how, besides my super tested recipe with the perfect batter and the right consistency, I give you some tricks and share a secret to keep our hazelnut cream from sinking to the bottom and staying soft and creamy. Nutella muffins are perfect for breakfast, as a snack, or even at the end of a meal; they are loved by both adults and children, and they melt in your mouth!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Inexpensive
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 12 Nutella muffins
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • Half packet baking powder
  • to taste vanilla
  • to taste Nutella®
  • to taste powdered sugar

Steps

  • ● Nutella muffins are very simple and quick to prepare, first take the Nutella with a teaspoon and make small mounds on a parchment paper sheet, then place them in the freezer for at least an hour. This operation will allow you to get a compact filling that doesn’t sink while baking and remains creamy.

  • ● Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla until they become light and fluffy. Add the vegetable oil and mix. Add the flour, baking powder, and milk, and form a smooth, lump-free mixture.

  • ● Fill the muffin liners with some batter and add a mound of Nutella in the center, do not press too much to prevent it from sinking.

  • ● Bake the Nutella muffins in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 25 minutes, do the toothpick test to check the doneness.

  • ● Remove the treats from the oven, take them out of the molds, and garnish them with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

Notes:

Nutella muffins can be stored at room temperature for 4-5 days. If you want to prepare these treats but don’t have much time, you can skip the first step and not freeze the Nutella, but this will not allow you to get a homogeneous and creamy filling.
