Oven-Baked Potato Fritters

in , ,

The oven-baked potato fritters are super tasty, extremely easy, and quick to prepare. If you want to make classic potato fritters but don’t feel like frying, I thought of making them in the oven (I also tried them in the air fryer and they are awesome) with very little oil, and they turned out amazing! The savory potato fritters are made in 5 minutes and are soft inside and golden and crispy outside, perfect as an appetizer, side dish, or vegetarian and vegan main course, they are too tempting, one leads to another 😀

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 10 oven-baked potato fritters
  • Cooking methods: Oven, Electric Oven, Air Fryer
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 lb and 1.5 oz potatoes (already peeled)
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • to taste spices (as desired)
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil

Steps

  • The oven-baked potato fritters are super easy and quick to prepare; first, peel the potatoes and grate them with a box grater (the one you use for grating cheese flakes), dab them with a paper towel (or squeeze them if they’re very watery) to remove excess liquid.

  • Season the grated potatoes with flour, spices as desired (I used paprika, rosemary, and garlic powder), salt, black pepper, and mix all the ingredients well.

  • Take a tablespoon of the mixture, quickly compact it with your hands, and flatten it to form a fritter.

  • Make all the oven-baked potato fritters this way and place them on a slightly oiled baking tray, brush them with a little extra virgin olive oil, and bake in a preheated oven at 428°F for about 20 minutes, they should be golden.

Notes:

The oven-baked potato fritters can be kept at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for a couple of days. You can flavor the fritters with other spices as desired, grated Parmesan cheese, or bacon or speck cubes. You can also cook them in an air fryer at 392°F for about 20 minutes.
