Parmesan Broccoli

in , ,

Parmesan broccoli is a super quick and extremely tasty recipe. I love broccoli, but made this way, I adore them! Parmesan broccoli is ideal as an appetizer, side dish, or vegetarian main course. You make them in 5 minutes and pop them in the oven; they are soft and have a crispy crust that will win you over at the first bite. I could have eaten them all by myself, but I “had to” (:D) share them with my husband and daughter, who, like me, loved them. Next time I’ll have to double the quantities! If you’re looking for a delicious broccoli recipe that kids will love too, definitely try them!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Inexpensive
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 2-4 people
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Autumn, Winter

Ingredients

  • 3.5 oz grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 broccoli
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • to taste spices (as desired)

Steps

  • Parmesan broccoli are super easy and quick to prepare. First, clean the broccoli, remove the harder part of the stem, and break off the florets. If they are too large, cut them in half.

  • Place the broccoli florets in a bowl and season them with salt, black pepper, spices as desired (I used sweet paprika, garlic powder, and thyme), extra virgin olive oil, and mix well.

  • Brush some of the flavored oil onto the base of a non-stick baking tray, add the grated Parmesan cheese, and spread it over the entire surface.

  • Place the broccoli florets on top of the cheese and press well, pour the remaining oil over them, and bake the Parmesan broccoli in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes until they are nicely golden.

Notes:

Parmesan broccoli can be stored at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for a couple of days. Of course, you can use Grana or any grated cheese.
