Puff Pastry with Ladyfingers

in ,

The puff pastries with ladyfingers are delightful treats of puff pastry and ladyfingers with jam or Nutella, truly delicious, quick, and delightful. After Christmas and New Year’s, like everyone, I had leftovers to use up, and among many things, there were some puff pastry rolls nearing expiration and some leftover ladyfingers from tiramisu, so I decided to make special treats that you can prepare in 10 minutes with just a few simple ingredients. I brought them to a friend’s house, and they were a hit! The puff pastries with ladyfingers are crispy with a soft and creamy filling. I made them with two flavors, but you can choose just one; however, they are so good that, between jam and Nutella, I couldn’t choose which one is better, they are both fabulous!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 12 Pieces
  • Cooking methods: Oven, Electric Oven, Air Fryer
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 7 oz Nutella®
  • 7 oz jam
  • 14 ladyfingers
  • 2 rolls puff pastry (rectangular)
  • as needed milk
  • as needed powdered sugar

Steps

  • The puff pastries with ladyfingers are super easy and quick to prepare. First, unroll a puff pastry sheet and fill the central part with half of the Nutella, forming a kind of rectangle as wide as a ladyfinger, leaving a bit of margin along the edges.

  • Place the ladyfingers on top of the Nutella and brush them with a bit of milk, then add the remaining Nutella on top.

  • Cut the sides of the pastry into strips about two centimeters wide and fold them over the filling, intertwining them. Brush the surface with beaten egg and do the same with the second puff pastry roll, using jam instead of Nutella.

  • Bake the puff pastries with ladyfingers in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 25 minutes, until they are golden.

  • Once baked, remove the puff pastries with ladyfingers from the oven, garnish them with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and cut them into pieces of 1.5/2 inches.

Tips:

The puff pastries with ladyfingers can be stored at room temperature for 4/5 days. If you prefer the ladyfingers to be very soft, soak them in milk instead of brushing them.
