The savory puff pastry sticks are super quick and tasty puff pastry snacks, very simple to prepare. I still can’t get enough of Christmas appetizers, it’s my favorite category (and also the part that, every year, they always leave to me :D), I’m flooding you with easy and delicious ideas and these savory puff pastry sticks I’m sure will win you over too! The savory puff pastry sticks are ready in 10 minutes and are super versatile, you can enrich them with the ingredients you prefer, cold cuts, cheeses, olives, tuna, smoked salmon, vegetables, in short, let your imagination run wild and try them right away, with just one roll of puff pastry you will make 16 assorted pastries, with different flavors (and you choose how many, I made 4 different flavors, so 4 pieces for each flavor), they are not only ideal as Christmas appetizers, for Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day, they are also perfect for an aperitif, a happy hour, a party, or a buffet!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz canned tuna in oil (a small can, drained weight)
  • 1 oz salami
  • 1 oz emmental cheese
  • 4 cherry tomatoes
  • 3 sausages
  • 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
  • Half onion (small)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Steps

  • The savory puff pastry sticks are very simple and quick to prepare, first unroll the puff pastry and cut it into 8 parts vertically and in half horizontally, thus obtaining 16 small pieces.

  • Transfer the pastry onto a baking tray with its baking paper underneath and fill the savory puff pastry sticks: on 4 put the cherry tomatoes cut into thin slices, salt, and oregano; on another 4 put salami and cheese in small pieces; fill another 4 with sausages cut into slices and on the last 4 put drained tuna, chopped onion, black pepper, and salt.

  • Bake the savory puff pastry sticks in a preheated oven at 392°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, they should be golden.

Tips:

Savory puff pastry sticks can be stored at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for a couple of days. You can customize the snacks with the ingredients you prefer, you can add olives, smoked salmon, cold cuts, cheeses, pâté, vegetables, etc.
