Today I made the carnival fritters, they are delicious, super soft, and above all, they are very easy to make. I used the Thermomix, but they can easily be kneaded with a stand mixer or by hand. The carnival fritters are without eggs and butter. They are really easy to make, you don’t need to have great manual skills. I also recommend other easy and quick carnival sweets.

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- zest of 1 lemon
- zest of 1 orange
- 1 1/3 tsp dry yeast
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup lard
- 2 tsp salt

Steps
Put the sugar, lemon zest, and orange zest in the bowl, pulverize for 30 seconds at speed 9. Bring everything down with the spatula.
Add the milk, yeast, and lard and mix for 40 seconds at speed 4.
Finally, add the flour and salt and knead for 3 minutes at kneading speed.
Transfer to the work surface, compact, and let rise in a bowl until doubled.
When doubled, divide the dough into about 13 balls, depending on how big you want them.
Let the balls double.
Before frying, press them well with your hands to form a disk.
Fry in hot oil.
Then roll them in granulated sugar and serve.
Place all ingredients in the stand mixer bowl, except for the milk. Let the mixer (with the paddle) work and gradually add the milk. When the dough detaches from the sides, remove it and proceed as described above.
Place all ingredients in the bowl, except for the milk. Start kneading and gradually add the milk. When the dough detaches from the sides of the bowl and no longer sticks, remove it and proceed as described above.
