Add the washed and chopped strawberries.
Mix well.
Transfer the mascarpone and strawberry cream onto the base prepared earlier.
Cover the surface with the crumbs of dough set aside earlier.

Want to customize your crumb cake? Here are some ideas to make it different every time:
• With mixed berries: replace the strawberries with blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries, fresh or frozen. Also great with a sprinkle of brown sugar on top!
• Chocolate and mascarpone: add dark chocolate chips to the mascarpone cream, or create a thin layer of hazelnut spread between the base and the filling.
• Crumb cake with peaches and amaretti: in summer, replace the strawberries with sliced peaches and add some crumbled amaretti in the base and filling for a more intense taste.
• Light version: use ricotta instead of mascarpone and sweeten with honey or erythritol for a lighter but still delicious variant.
• Single-serving: make the crumb cake in muffin molds to create individual cakes perfect for serving or gifting.
