Halloween is near, and today I wanted to try these skeleton-shaped molds that I purchased some time ago. And I created Halloween skeleton cookies. The result was very cute, and I had a lot of fun decorating them. Oh, I know I still have a lot to learn. For the dough, I used my classic shortcrust pastry but any cookie dough will do.

- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Very cheap
- Rest time: 30 Minutes
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 10
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Halloween
Ingredients
- 4 cups shortcrust pastry
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3.5 oz dark chocolate
Tools
- Baking Mat silicone
- Cookie Cutter
- Stand Mixer
- Rolling Pin
Steps
In the bowl of the stand mixer, I placed eggs, sugar, and lard, and mixed with the paddle attachment for about 2 minutes.
I added flour, baking powder, vanilla, and salt, and mixed until the dough separated from the sides of the bowl. This will take about 3 minutes.
I compacted the dough with my hands and formed a ball, which I let rest for 1 hour in the fridge, covered with plastic wrap.
After the resting time, I rolled out the dough on a floured surface and formed the cookies.
I transferred the cookies onto the silicone mat, and using the back of the mold, I shaped the cookies like bones. I baked them for about 15 minutes at 350°F.
I decorated some of them with glaze, simply mixing powdered sugar and lemon juice.
And another part with melted dark chocolate.
If you want, the glaze can also be colored. Just add some food coloring.
