Lentil Burgers Cooked in Air Fryer

Today I prepared some delicious lentil burgers. They are really easy to make and very tasty. I preferred cooking them in an air fryer, but you can easily cook them as you like. They are also delicious on the stovetop. Lentil burgers are perfect to serve as a light main course, or to fill a good and healthy sandwich, accompanied by vegetables and sauces of your choice. I used dried lentils, but you can easily use canned lentils to save a step. You might also be interested.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups lentils
  • 1 egg
  • to taste garlic powder
  • to taste parsley powder
  • to taste olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch dried oregano
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • 3 tablespoons grated cheese

Tools

  • Air fryer

Steps

  • If using dried lentils, boil them in water for about 30 minutes and then pour them into the mixer. If using canned lentils, drain them and then pour them into the mixer.

  • Blend for a few minutes until creamy.

  • Transfer them into a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients.

  • Mix well and form the burgers, then coat them in breadcrumbs.

  • Place them in the air fryer basket, and cook for about 10 minutes at 392°F, turning halfway through cooking.
