Quick Asparagus and Clams Pasta

Today I prepared pasta with asparagus and clams. I had already tried Spaghetti with asparagus and shrimp and since we liked them so much, I decided to try them with clams as well. For this recipe, I used cultivated asparagus that my nephew always gives me. Too good. As for the clams, I bought pre-cleaned frozen ones. I wanted to make something quick, and occasionally I find them on sale, so why not take advantage of it??

  • 12 oz pasta (I use mezze maniche)
  • 2 1/2 cups asparagus
  • 3 1/2 oz clams (mine are shelled and frozen)
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 bunch chopped parsley
  • to taste oil and salt

Tools

  • Pan
  • High-sided casserole
  • Ladle

Steps

  • The first thing to do is wash the asparagus, remove the tough parts, cut them into pieces, and steam them for 5 minutes. (I do this in the microwave).

  • In a pan, sauté the clams with oil, garlic, and chopped parsley. 5 minutes will be enough.

  • Add the cooked asparagus and let it flavor for another 10 minutes. In the meantime, cook the pasta in plenty of salted water for the time indicated on the package.

  • Drain the pasta al dente, add it to the asparagus, and mix well.
