Besides topping pasta, this sauce is also great for accompanying slices in the pan (both red and white meat), and if you add some clams, it becomes an excellent condiment for seafood dishes! Ingredients for the 5-Minute Sauce

  • 1 1/4 cups tomato puree
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove red garlic
  • 4 anchovies in oil (well-drained)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (fresh)
  • to taste dried chili pepper
  • to taste fine salt

Preparation of the 5-Minute Sauce

  • Clean the garlic and chop it finely, place it in the pan with the oil, chili pepper, and anchovies, put on low heat and cook for 1 minute (until the anchovies melt).

  • Add the tomato puree, adjust the salt, add the chopped parsley, stir and cook with the lid on for another 4 minutes;

  • Once 5 minutes have passed (5 minutes in total from the start of the sauce preparation) turn off the heat and leave covered, when the pasta is ready pour it into the pan, let it flavor for 2/3 minutes and serve, you’ll taste how good it is!!!

TIPS

You can prepare this sauce in advance and once cold store it in the fridge for 2 days in an airtight container.

Once cold, you can also freeze the sauce in suitable containers and store it long-term in the freezer to have it always ready.
