Ingredients for Baked Gratinated Conchiglioni
- 8.8 oz conchiglioni
- 2 tablespoons soffritto (celery, carrot, onion)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 10.6 oz mixed ground meat
- 24.7 oz tomato puree
- 1 cup water
- 1.8 oz cheese (grated)

Preparation of Baked Gratinated Conchiglioni
To start, boil water in a pot and when it boils, throw in the conchiglioni, cook them for 5 minutes, then drain them and put them in a bowl with a drizzle of oil, mix, and set aside (this prevents them from sticking).
In the pan, heat the oil and add the soffritto, let it brown over medium heat, stirring constantly, then add the ground meat and break it up with the ladle (or spoon), season with salt and pepper and cook for 5 minutes over high heat with a lid.
Lower the heat, add the tomato puree, water, season with salt, mix, and cook for 5 minutes with the lid on over low heat, then turn off.
In the baking dish, place a little sauce at the base, then make a layer of conchiglioni with the open side up, pour half of the sauce, and distribute half of the grated cheese, make another layer of conchiglioni, finish with the remaining sauce, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Heat the oven to 482°F and once hot, bake and cook for 25/30 minutes, at the end of cooking a nice crispy crust should form on the surface! Once cooked, take them out of the oven and serve them hot!
