Ingredients for broccoli and sausage casserole

  • 27.5 oz broccoli (green, weighed already cleaned)
  • 5 oz sausage
  • 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove red garlic
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp grated cheese

Preparation of broccoli and sausage casserole

  • Start by cleaning the broccoli from the waste parts, cut it into small pieces, rinse under running water, drain well with a colander, and place it in a large pot. Cover with salted water and put it on the stove on high heat. Once it boils, cook for 20 minutes, then drain well.

  • Put the cooked and well-drained broccoli in a bowl, mash well with a fork, add olive oil, salt, pepper, peeled and crumbled sausage, and mix well. Lastly, add breadcrumbs and the egg, and with the help of a spoon, mix until all ingredients are combined.

  • Place the obtained mixture in a non-stick baking pan, press it with the spoon leveling the surface, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Heat the oven to the maximum temperature.

  • When the oven is hot, bake the broccoli and sausage casserole for 25/30 minutes. At the end of cooking, the surface should have a nice golden crust. Once cooked, take it out, let it cool slightly, and serve it. Enjoy your meal!
