Preparation of Curried Cabbage in a Pan
Clean the cabbage of any waste parts, slice it into strips, and wash it under running water, drain well and place it in a sufficiently large bowl.
Season the cabbage with salt, ground pepper, and curry, mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Now pour the seasoned cabbage into the pan, add the oil and water, stir, cover, and cook on medium heat for 35-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In the last minutes of cooking, increase the heat, remove the lid, and stir continuously until the end of cooking. The cabbage should be tender yet slightly crunchy at the end of cooking. Serve on a serving plate and garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy your meal!
Tips
If you use a glass lid with a steam vent (as recommended above in the tools section), it is even better for the success of the recipe as it helps create moisture to soften the dish quicker and allows you to use less fat. In this recipe, only 2 tablespoons of oil are used!
