Ingredients for Cuttlefish in Tomato Sauce

  • 10.5 oz cuttlefish (if frozen, the weight should be considered thawed or fresh)
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 2 cloves red garlic
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation of Cuttlefish in Tomato Sauce

  • Start with the cuttlefish, if they are frozen let them thaw, once thawed (or if fresh) rinse them under running water and pat them dry with paper towels, set aside.

  • In a pot, sauté the garlic with the oil, when the garlic is golden add the tomato puree, salt, and stir.

  • Then add the cuttlefish, cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes (medium-sized cuttlefish) on medium heat, stirring occasionally. If the sauce dries too much, add a few tablespoons of water and finish cooking.

  • Before serving, adjust the salt if necessary and garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, enjoy your meal!
