Preparation of Halloween coffin and skull cookies
In the bowl, add the butter at room temperature and the sugar, and after putting on gloves, work with your hands until you get a uniform and soft mixture.
Add the egg to the bowl and mix it in using your hands (with gloves, of course).
Finally, add the flour to the bowl and start kneading with your hands. When the mixture is no longer sticky, transfer it to a lightly floured pastry board and knead until you get a smooth dough ball.
Wrap the shortcrust pastry ball well in plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
After the resting time in the fridge, take the dough and place it on a floured pastry board. Roll it out with the rolling pin to a thickness of about 1/8 inch, and use the cookie cutters to cut out half coffins and half skulls (continue kneading, rolling, and cutting the leftover dough until it’s used up).
Place the coffins and skulls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, preheat the oven to 356°F, and once hot, bake for 18/20 minutes (depending on the oven). Always check the baking!
Once baked, let the Halloween cookies cool completely. Once cool, decorate them with the hazelnut spread or the food marker!
