Let’s Prepare Homemade Chocolate Nougat Together!

  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper, place hazelnuts and almonds on top, spacing them out, preheat the oven to the maximum temperature and once hot, bake and toast for 4 minutes, then turn off the oven, open it and let them cool.

  • Coarsely chop the dark chocolate with a cutting board and knife and place the large pieces into the chopper (do it half at a time), operate it at maximum speed until the chocolate becomes powder, pour it into a non-stick pot with a 20 cm diameter.

  • Boil water in a large pot and once it boils, place the saucepan with the chocolate on top, stir occasionally until completely melted, stirring with a spatula.

  • Once melted, pour in the cream, stir until combined, and pour it into the bowl, add the toasted almonds and hazelnuts, quickly mix with a spatula.

  • Now put on the rubber gloves and knead the nougat, which will now be soft and pliable, knead until the hazelnuts and almonds are evenly distributed.

  • Place the nougat dough into the silicone mold, press down well with your hands until it is level and fills the mold evenly, let it cool completely.

  • Once completely cool, cover the mold with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6/8 hours before consuming.

  • After resting in the fridge, remove the nougat from the mold, place it on a cutting board, and cut it into slices or large pieces and enjoy it, you will taste how delicious it is!

TIPS

Homemade chocolate nougat should be stored in the fridge inside an airtight container, I recommend slicing or chopping it into pieces and then placing it in the container, this way it will be ready to use!

You can also gift the nougat for Christmas either whole or in pieces, and you will make a great impression!

To add an extra touch, add 1 shot of espresso or a shot glass of Rum to the nougat dough.

Instead of one single mold, you can divide the dough into small individual portions, also convenient to be used as place cards for Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s!
