Ingredients for Low Glycemic Index Flour Buns

  • 1 1/4 cups low glycemic index flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp fine salt
  • 1 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations

Preparation of Low Glycemic Index Flour Buns

  • In a bowl, pour the flour, salt, and yeast and quickly mix with the spoon.

  • Add the water and oil to the bowl and start mixing with the spoon. When you see the water being absorbed, pour the dough onto a lightly floured work surface.

  • Knead the dough for 5/6 minutes until you have a smooth and compact dough, then divide it into 3 equal parts, shape each part into a round shape, slightly flatten them, and place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C) and once it has reached the temperature, bake the buns. Cook for 30/35 minutes, once cooked, remove them from the oven, let them cool, and enjoy them alone or filled!

  • At the end of cooking, the low glycemic index flour buns should be slightly golden on the surface.
