Preparation of Quick Apple Turnovers
Wash the apple, peel it, and remove the core. Cut it into slices, then into small pieces, and place them in a bowl with the juice of half a lemon, sugar, and jam. Mix using 2 spoons.
Unroll the puff pastry, cut it in half lengthwise, and then cut each strip into 3 large rectangles (6 rectangles in total). Place 1 heaping tablespoon of seasoned apple in the center of each puff pastry rectangle until used up.
Close the turnovers by folding the long sides over themselves, seal the short sides by pressing, and seal the longest side (or if you prefer, leave the long side open like in the photo). Brush each turnover’s surface with a bit of milk and sprinkle with granulated sugar as desired.
Preheat the oven to 392°F, and once hot, bake for 25 minutes. Once cooked, remove the quick apple turnovers from the oven, let them cool, and before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
