Salmon Canapés for Christmas, Savory Bull’s Eyes!

For the holidays, prepare these savory bull’s eyes, which are delightful salmon canapés for Christmas and Christmas Eve. Ingredients for the Salmon Canapés for Christmas

  • 16 slices white bread
  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 5 oz smoked salmon
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • to taste mixed peppercorns (freshly ground)

Preparation of Savory Bull’s Eyes (Salmon Canapés for Christmas)

  • With the larger cutter, cut 1 circle from each slice of white bread (16 circles); on 8 circles, cut a hole in the center with the smaller part of the cutter.

  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with oil, salt, pepper, and parsley until you get a homogeneous mixture that you will spread on each whole circle.

  • With the large cutter (used before), cut the salmon and place it on the cheese-spread slices, cover each canapé with a disc with a hole in the center, and before serving, decorate with the remaining cheese cream and fresh parsley.

  • If you don’t consume the salmon canapés for Christmas immediately, you just need to cover them with plastic wrap and store them in the fridge until the right time.

Variations and Anti-Waste

You can add minced garlic or chives to the cream cheese.

To use up the bread scraps, put them on a baking tray, season with a pinch of salt, plenty of pepper, and a drizzle of oil, bake at 482°F for 10 minutes, and you’ll have excellent aperitif snacks!
