- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Rest time: 4 Hours
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 6
- Cooking methods: No baking
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 5 Eggs (make sure the eggs are super fresh)
- 18 oz Mascarpone (if you want thicker tiramisu, use firm mascarpone; for creamier, use softer)
- 5 tbsps Sugar
- 10.5 oz Ladyfingers
- 4 cups Coffee (use unsweetened espresso)
- 1 to taste Unsweetened cocoa powder (to use on the surface)
Tools
- Electric mixer alternatively, kitchen processor
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Baking dish glass or individual cups
Preparation
First, separate the yolks from the whites perfectly, placing them in separate bowls.
With the help of an electric mixer (or kitchen processor), beat the egg whites to stiff peaks and set aside.
Now beat the yolks with the sugar until you get a thick and fluffy mixture.
In a large bowl, place the mascarpone and add the yolks, mixing everything perfectly from the bottom up.
Now add the beaten egg whites to the bowl with mascarpone and yolks, mixing from the bottom up (to prevent the egg whites from deflating) until you get a uniform cream in color and consistency.
Now take 6 cups (or a single large dish), quickly dip half of the cookies into the coffee (which should be bitter and well chilled) and place them at the base of the cups (or dish).
Pour half of the cream (reserving the other half) over the coffee-soaked cookies, continue with more cookies dipped in coffee and finish by filling the cups (or large dish) with the remaining cream.
Cover the cups (or the large dish) with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before enjoying (if you prepare it the day before for the next day, it’ll be even better!).
Before serving the tiramisu, remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle the surface with unsweetened cocoa powder. Enjoy your tiramisu!

That extra touch…
If you want to add an extra touch to the tiramisu, you can add 1 tablespoon of whiskey cream to the mascarpone cream.
