- Difficulty: Easy
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 6 PEOPLE
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian Regional
- Region: Tuscany
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking ammonia
- 1 tbsp rum
Tools
- Bowl
Steps
Crack the eggs into the bowl with the sugar and baking ammonia
Beat with a fork for two minutes
Add half of the flour, the rum, and start working with a spatula
Then add the chocolate chips and the remaining flour, and knead first with the spatula and then with your hands until you get a compact and soft ball
Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. With each part, form a loaf about 1 1/4 inches thick. Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 340°F for 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and, while still warm, cut the loaves diagonally to get the typical cantucci shape. Place them on the baking sheet with the cut side up and bake at 300°F for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before serving! Enjoy your meal!
