  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup potato starch
  • 1 cup sugar

Preparation of the NUTELLA CAKE

Before starting to prepare the cake, place the jar of Nutella in the refrigerator.

Butter and flour, or line with parchment paper, an approximately 8.5-inch diameter cake pan (read How to line a pan with parchment paper).

Preheat the oven to 356°F static or 320°F fan (I use 320°F fan).

  • Crack the eggs and place them in a bowl; add the sugar (1) and a pinch of salt (2), then beat for a few minutes with an electric mixer (3).

  • Add the vegetable oil (4) and the vanillin (5) and mix well.

  • In another bowl, mix the flour, starch, and baking powder (6), then sift them and gradually add to the mixture (7), continuing to work with the mixer (8).

    Pour a little more than half of the mixture into the prepared 8.5-inch pan (9) and bake in the preheated oven at 356°F static or 320°F fan for 20 minutes.

  • After 20 minutes, remove the pan from the oven. Using 2 spoons (10), quickly spread the Nutella over the surface of the semi-cooked mixture, leaving a few inches of border (11). Quickly stir the mixture you set aside and pour it over the Nutella layer (12).

  • Put the cake back in the oven and continue baking for another 30 – 35 minutes. Leave the cake in the turned-off oven with the door slightly open for another 5 minutes.

    Remove from oven and let the cake cool slightly, then remove from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool.

    Before serving the Nutella cake, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
