- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs (medium)
- 2 oranges (about 14 oz)
- 3/4 cup walnut halves
- 2 tsp baking powder

Orange and Walnut Cake Preparation
Place the eggs, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a bowl; beat with the whisk until the mixture is light and frothy.
Add the grated zest of one orange and the vegetable oil.
Mix with the electric whisk.
Add the flour and baking powder by sifting them; continue working with the whisk until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Peel the oranges, separate the segments and peel them, then cut them into pieces and add them to the batter.
Add the coarsely chopped walnut halves and mix everything well with a spatula or spoon.Pour the batter into a 8.5-inch diameter cake pan greased and floured.
Distribute some walnut halves on the surface.Bake in the preheated oven at 355°F static or 320°F fan-forced for about 50 minutes. Do the toothpick test, and if you see that the cake is still raw but well golden on the surface, lower the oven temperature by 10°F and let it cook for a few more minutes.
Remove from the oven, let the cake cool slightly, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely, preferably on a rack.
Before serving the orange and walnut cake, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
