The savory plum cake with cheese and pears is a tasty appetizer, but it can also be served as a snack or, if you prefer a savory breakfast, you can serve it in the morning, perhaps with a glass of orange juice. I served it for dinner, accompanied by diced Emmental cheese and a mixed salad. In short, as you can see, it is a quite versatile dish that can solve a breakfast, a snack, or even (why not?) a dinner.

Preparation of SAVORY PLUM CAKE WITH CHEESE AND PEARS
Grate the cheese with a box grater and set aside.
Crack the eggs into a bowl, add a pinch of salt, some pinches of pepper, and the milk, then beat everything for a few minutes with a whisk. Gradually add the yeast and flour, sifting them in. Mix well.
Add the washed, dried, and chopped chives; also add the peeled and diced pear and the cheese you grated. Mix well with a spatula.
Pour the batter into a loaf pan lined with parchment paper (I used a pan measuring 9.8 x 4.5 inches).
Bake the plum cake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for about 50 minutes. If using a convection oven, set it to 320°F. Test for doneness with a toothpick.
Remove the savory plum cake from the oven and let it cool slightly, then remove it from the pan.
You can serve the savory plum cake with cheese and pears warm or cold.
