Strawberries with cream is a delightful dessert to prepare in spring, although it is now easy to find strawberries all year round (but seasonal fruit is always the best). Great to serve at the end of a meal or as a snack, they are always loved by everyone and kids go crazy for them. In my fruit salad with whipped cream, I added limoncello liqueur, but if there are children, it is best to avoid it, your dessert will still be delicious. You can dress the strawberries with sugar and lemon juice, but if you use the juice of an orange instead of the lemon, in my opinion, they taste even better.

Ingredients for Strawberries with Cream
- 1 lb strawberries
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 orange juice (or the juice of 1/2 lemon)
- 2 tablespoons limoncello
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
Preparation of STRAWBERRIES WITH CREAM
Place the strawberries in a colander and wash them under running water; let them drain for a few moments. Remove the stem, cut the strawberries into pieces and put them in a glass bowl, add the juice of an orange (or the juice of half a lemon), the sugar, and the limoncello.
Mix well, then cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap. Place the strawberries in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
In the meantime, whip the very cold cream with the powdered sugar, using a bowl and whisk that are also cold from the refrigerator (see How to whip cream).
Distribute the strawberries in individual bowls, garnish with the whipped cream, and serve immediately.
Notes
You can replace the cream with a scoop of ice cream, preferably vanilla or cream flavored.
